Timothy lived with an urgency regarding time. Maybe it was one of the books that we read aloud, “Don’t Waste Your Life” by John Piper. Or maybe it was one of the many missionary biographies describing adventure in faraway places that called his name. But he somehow knew he needed to do the important things first. Things that would count. Timothy walked through the kitchen one day, as a young teenager, and announced, “I’m not going to wait till I retire to travel the world and do stuff. I’m gonna do it up front.” I remember thinking, “Can people really do that? How does that work?” Well, I was about to find out! He didn’t even wait till he had a career – much less retire from it!

I bought Timothy this “Now” clock because it totally matched his personality. He could not sit still! While doing appliance repair calls, he calculated that the size of a person’s TV was inversely proportional to their motivation to get up off the couch. lol He also calculated that he couldn’t go to the movies anymore because they took up too much time. And who wants to watch a movie when you can live it yourself?! He had goals to reach and a world to conquer!

Timothy got his first passport when he was 16, and it is completely full. His second passport was issued when he was 26, and it is completely empty. It’s a good thing he didn’t wait until he retired.
If God has put a burden, a vision, or a dream in your heart, don’t wait. Do it now. If there is anyone you need to apologize to, forgive, or love, Do it now. If there is anything you need to settle with God, don’t wait. Do it now.
“I tell you that the “right time” is Now. The “day of salvation” is Now.” 2 Corinthians 6:2
“So teach us to number each of our days, so that we may gain a heart of wisdom.” Psalm 90:12
